ASTA - Hawaiʻi Unit's Solo & Ensemble Festival provides a noncompetitive environment in which young string students have the opportunity to perform and receive feedback (including encouragement and suggestions for improvement) from professional string players. Student are also encouraged to see and hear other students perform and anyone can come to see the various performances that happen throughout the day. All participants receive a medal with the color of the medal indicating the level they performed at (beginning, intermediate or advanced).
Our Solo & Ensemble Festival usually happens in February and students must register for the event through a private teacher or school teacher who is a ASTA - Hawaiʻi Unit member. Registration information usually goes out in early November and is due in mid-December. |

Music performed must be found in our Solo & Ensemble Music Manual (CLICK HERE to view). This manual is a work in progress and if you have a piece you would like added to the list, a TEACHER may submit the form to the right to have the piece vetted, graded, and then added to the list. You may also choose to perform a piece not on the list without submitting the form, but you will receive COMMENTS ONLY (NO medal or ratings).
