Parade of Orchestras

Overview

2025 Information - TBA

This event is a noncompetitive festival that brings orchestras from around the state together to perform for two adjudicators who are highly regarded in the field of string pedagogy. Parade of Orchestras is usually held over the course of two days in April with information and registration happening in February-March. Registration must be done by a teacher for each group. It is open to elementary through high school string and full orchestra ensembles of all levels. Each ensemble receives comments (and ratings if they choose that option) either written and/or recorded (spoken) from each adjudicator and a plaque for participating. Students are also required to watch at least two other performances so they can see and hear what other ensembles are doing and learn from them as well.
